just heard James Baldwin tell Charles Reese "Human freedom is a complex, difficult and a private thing. If we can liken life for a moment like a furnace, then freedom is the FIRE that burns away illusion." He also heard Mr. Baldwin say, "You don't tell life, life tells you."
