Was never their call to make

I know people have called my self-labeled identities into question dozens of times, no matter what I’ve identified as. When I identified as a gay FtM people talked behind my back a lot because I was really a lesbian or straight. When I identified as a bisexual FtM people talked behind my back a lot because I was really gay. People have said I was really a transvestite, really a butch lesbian, really this, really that, and you know what? That was never their call to make.
